Job Summary: 

At LG Energy Solution Arizona, Inc., the Sr. Specialist, Materials Management manages complex raw materials purchasing activities to support material availability, cost efficiency, and production continuity. This role leads raw materials purchasing activities and manages key supplier-related processes to support operational and production needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead raw materials purchasing activities and monitor supplier performance, pricing, delivery schedules, and material availability to support production requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to address material shortages, delivery delays, pricing concerns, and other supply-related issues.
  • Manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) activities and monitor inventory coverage to help maintain an appropriate supply of raw materials.
  • Review material demand, purchasing requirements, and inventory trends to support purchasing decisions and help prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Evaluate transportation and logistics options and negotiate freight, transit, and other related costs to improve overall purchasing efficiency.
  • Manage escalated purchasing, shipment, and material availability issues that require cross-functional coordination or support from headquarters.
  • Prepare and provide regular updates and reports to headquarters in South Korea regarding raw materials purchasing status, supplier activity, inventory conditions, cost changes, and key issues requiring visibility or support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve raw materials purchasing processes, supplier performance, cost efficiency, and overall material availability.
  • Serve as a resource to team members by providing guidance on purchasing processes, supplier issues, material planning, and complex purchasing-related matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in materials management, procurement, supply chain, purchasing, logistics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with supplier sourcing, negotiation, purchasing, and supplier relationship management.
  • Experience supporting raw materials purchasing within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site and maintain flexibility in work hours based on business needs and communication with global teams.

Skills:

  • Strong supplier sourcing, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cost-management capabilities.
  • Ability to lead complex purchasing and materials-related activities with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP, purchasing, or inventory-management systems.
