Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting Human Resources employee relations and day to day operations in compliance with federal and state laws that govern a Federally Qualified Health Center. This role will ensure that files are current and meet Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) requirements. The HR Generalist will provide administrative support to the HR Leadership team and serve as a back-up to payroll and HR administration. This role will also help drive process improvements, support network initiatives and dedication the mission and vision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Support HR administration and maintain HR processes and procedures in accordance with federal and state laws, FQHC and HRSA regulatory requirements as well as Network policies
- Support departmental functions: talent acquisition, benefit administration, payroll/HR administration, training and development and employee relations
- Conduct regular departmental audits of I-9s, personnel files, performance reviews; flag errors, missing documents and identifying ways of perfecting the process through automation or staff correction
- Create and run Human Resource reports as needed; provide analysis and recommendations based on report results
- Assist with the coordination of pre-employment and ongoing compliance activities, including fingerprinting, exclusion screenings, background checks, and drug testing
- Assist with Department of Transportation (DOT) and National Drug Screening Administration (NDSA) to ensure compliance with Commercial Driver Licenses (CDL) drivers
- Assist in monitoring, triage and responding to the general HR mailbox inquires; ensure responses are timely and accurate
- Assist with Health Commerce System (HCS) and link new hires with our Network i.e., provide access to NYSIIS, approve role assignments
- Assist/back up credentialing team on the onboarding of healthcare professionals i.e. nurses, radiology technologists, physicians, etc. ; ensure everything is in good order
- Serves as a backup for new hire onboarding and provider orientation processes
- Assist EVP of HR, Director or Compensation & Benefits and Director of HR with employee relations matters, including workplace investigations and documentation and special projects
- Support various HR platforms; Healthstream, Press Ganey, Lyric etc.; continuous learning of system capabilities and streamline when possible
- Participate in various organization committees that support the Mission, Vision, and Core Values
- Perform additional responsibilities and special projects assigned
Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the essential functions:
- Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 - 3 years of Human Resources administrative/generalist experience.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Understanding of HR life cycle, employee relations, onboarding, and records management
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer Service skills
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
- MS Office Suite and HRIS experience; Lyric/ADP is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, telephone, and through electronic communication
The pay range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000/annually and will be determined based on skills and experience.
