About the Role:

Come work at one of the nation’s Top 100 golf courses, set in the stunning Adirondack Mountains. Glens Falls Country Club is seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, and service-oriented Well Server/Cook to join our team. The Well Server/Cook provides service to members and members guests by taking orders for food and beverages, fulfilling orders, and ensuring that members and guests have a pleasant experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of quality food production to ensure member/guest satisfaction
  • Ensure high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout the kitchen, storage, and dumpster areas, always
  • Keep all cooking equipment clean during the assigned shift, making sure that all cooking equipment is cleaned prior to the change of each shift
  • Maintain organization of storage areas by storing provisions in appropriate locations on receipt in accordance with accepted sanitation standards and club practices
  • Perform cooking procedures as required to fulfill tasks assigned by Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Lead Cook which may include:
  • Breading, freezing, thawing, proofing, baking
  • Preparing meat, seafood, poultry and vegetables for roasting and grilling
  • Prepare stocks and basic soups according to standard recipes
  • Portion control meats, seafood, dairy products, vegetables, and fruits using devices including scales and dishers.
  • Perform basic preparation techniques including slicing, dicing, mincing, and chopping using knives and mechanical devices such as electric slicers, and food processors
  • Setup, operate, breakdown and clean slicers, mixers, and food processors
  • Understanding and following procedures to maintain a sanitary workspace conforming to all jurisdictional and club-imposed regulations and rules regarding food service sanitation
  • Greet all members and members guests as they arrive at the Well ensuring that the service area is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided.
  • Maintains the inventory of items that are displayed outside and inside of the Well.
  • Answers all questions regarding food and drink options.
  • Takes food and beverage orders and delivers them quickly.
  • Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to the customers’ satisfaction
  • Maintains a clean working environment in and around the Well, ensuring that all health standards are followed.
  • Completes daily inventory of items needed from the kitchen to ensure a fully stocked Well for the following day
  • Prepares members’ checks and collects payments.
  • Assists with other Well tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately.
  • Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Must be at least sixteen years old (at least 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages).
  • Previous experience as a server preferred.
  • Must successfully complete restaurant’s training course.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
