Job Summary: Provide direct and indirect age-specific patient care services to assigned patients during scheduled shifts within the framework of Patient-Centered Care. Perform nursing duties that meet the physical, psychosocial, cultural, and general needs of the patient and family, while maintaining institutional requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.Â
Support the mission and vision of the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and that of the Department.
Tasks:
- Greet, receive, and create a positive experience for every patient/family by demonstrating a professional, caring, empathetic and friendly approach following the service excellence standards and guidelines.
- Provide age-specific nursing care, including treatments, vital sign recording, and assistance in various medical procedures such as Lumbar Puncture and chest tube insertion while maintaining adherence to patient safety policies and procedures.
- Facilitate patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes, while actively participating in pre and postoperative care.
- Prioritize care based on medical and nursing diagnosis, patient history, and expected patient outcomes.
- Respond to patients’ needs promptly and answer their requests within the scope of job requirements.
- Monitor patient’s medical conditions and emotional stability and promptly report any changes to the Registered Nurse/ Charge Nurse/ Nurse Manager.Â
- Collect and label ordered specimens (urine, sputum, drainage, etc.) for testing purposes.
- Efficiently complete tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
- Perform directed cleaning duties, including equipment and instruments disinfection, packing items for sterilization, checking physician cubicles’ examination tables and linen, and maintaining overall unit orderliness.
- Assist in maintaining an adequate stock of supplies.Â
- Operate all unit equipment, instruments and furniture following established protocols and promptly report any malfunction to the Registered Nurse/Nurse Manager.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Minimum Education: Practical Nurse (PN) Diploma or Baccalaureate Technique (BT) Degree in Nursing. License to Practice as a Practical Nurse is a must.
Minimum Experience: 0 - 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Languages: Arabic and English (EET >/= 500) Preferred Languages: French is an asset
Computer Skills: Basic knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office.
