Advanced Engineering Technician

Electromechanical Systems & Prototype Development

We are seeking an Advanced Engineering Technician to support the design, fabrication, testing, and modification of electromechanical systems, prototype hardware, specialized test equipment, and experimental circuitry. This role works closely with engineering and operations teams to build, troubleshoot, calibrate, and improve advanced technologies while supporting product development, process improvement, and prototype validation in a high-technology engineering environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support engineering activities involving the design, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of prototype electromechanical systems.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation to support manufacturing and development activities.
  • Construct, modify, troubleshoot, debug, calibrate, test, and adjust a variety of tools, equipment, assemblies, and engineering systems.
  • Build and fabricate complex prototype hardware using standard fabrication tools and equipment.
  • Conduct statistically based experiments to establish and validate manufacturing or engineering process parameters.
  • Analyze experimental data, document results, and recommend process improvements based on technical findings.
  • Design and fabricate basic tooling, fixtures, and support equipment for specialized engineering applications.
  • Implement and document complex process improvement solutions that enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations Support, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and improve engineering processes.

 

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering technician experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, or prototype development environments.
  • Experience supporting the design, testing, fabrication, modification, and maintenance of electromechanical systems or prototype hardware.
  • Proficiency using fabrication tools, test equipment, and mechanical assembly techniques.
  • Ability to fabricate complex hardware and prototype assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Understanding of accepted engineering principles, technical theory, testing methods, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and documenting engineering or manufacturing data to support continuous process improvement.
