Nature and Scope

The Perioperative Nurse is directly or indirectly responsible for delivering total nursing care to the perioperative patient during various phases of the perioperative phase. Perioperative nurses use a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, assisting surgeons and surgical teams to care for a patient before, during, and after surgery (surgical procedures). Assists with orientation and training of new personnel and acts as a resource person for problems related to patient care.

We are located at 1065 Bucks Lake Road, Quincy, CA 95971.

 

Compensation

Compensation for Non-Benefited, Per Diem Pay Scale

  • Base Rate: $60.61–$86.41 per hour
  • Starting pay is determined using our clinical pay scales, which feature 13 steps recognizing up to 30 years of relevant experience.
  • Eligible employees may also receive shift differential and holiday pay.

  • Per Diem, non-benefited 
  • Requires on call

Qualifications

Education: 

  • Associate Degree of Nursing
  • Current California Registered Nurse License.
  • Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS

Prefered Experience:

  • At least one (1) year experience with surgery. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn, accepts change, and updates knowledge of nursing as evidenced by continuing education.
  • Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of Perioperative nursing care including, but not limited to proper identification of patients and procedures, along with their potential effects on the individual patient.
  • Has the ability to recognize safety hazards and to initiate appropriate preventative and corrective action.
  • Is self-directed in improving and acquiring the abilities and skills necessary to enhance job performance.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Assesses patients at intervals as stated in policies and procedures.
  • Develops an individualized perioperative patient plan of care.
  • Evaluates the patient’s progress toward attaining outcomes.
  • Transfers care as appropriate.
