Talent Acquisition Specialist

Job Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for attracting, sourcing, recruiting, and hiring top talent to support the organization's business objectives. This role partners closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, develop effective recruiting strategies, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience from initial outreach through onboarding. The Talent Acquisition Specialist serves as a brand ambassador for the organization while ensuring hiring practices are efficient, compliant, and aligned with company values.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, job requirements, and workforce planning initiatives
  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates for hourly, skilled trades, and professional positions
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, employee referrals, networking events, community partnerships, career fairs, and direct outreach
  • Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates
  • Conduct phone and virtual interviews to assess candidate qualifications, experience, and cultural fit
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring teams
  • Manage the candidate selection process, including interview feedback, references, background checks, and pre-employment requirements
  • Prepare and extend employment offers while communicating compensation, benefits, and employment terms
  • Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) records and ensure data accuracy throughout the hiring process
  • Ensure recruiting activities comply with all federal, state, and local employment laws, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements
  • Promote the company's employment brand through social media, community engagement, educational partnerships, and networking opportunities
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill positions
  • Monitor recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, candidate quality, source effectiveness, and hiring manager satisfaction
  • Partner with Human Resources and hiring managers to facilitate a smooth transition from candidate acceptance through onboarding
  • Participate in new hire orientation activities as needed
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance recruiting efficiency and candidate experience
  • Stay current on recruiting trends, labor market conditions, and best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite for the duration of scheduled shifts, including mandatory overtime

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and recruiting experience may be considered
  • Two to five years of full-cycle recruiting or talent acquisition experience
  • Experience recruiting for manufacturing, industrial, skilled trades, or operations positions preferred
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and HRIS
  • Experience with sourcing techniques including Indeed, LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, and networking

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions and competing priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Knowledge of employment laws and recruiting compliance requirements
  • Strong customer service mindset with a focus on delivering an exceptional candidate experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking systems
  • Ability to analyze recruiting metrics and use data to improve hiring outcomes
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
  • Professional, positive, and adaptable approach to changing business needs

Working Conditions 

This position primarily operates in a professional office setting. This role may occasionally travel for business purposes.

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally
    • Ability to operate office equipment
  • Work Schedule:
    • The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. with occasional evening or weekend work as needed to meet deadlines or attend events
    • Work schedules may vary based on position/department
    • Travel: up to 10%
  • Additional Conditions:
    • The employee must comply with all safety guidelines and workplace policies/practices
