State Street Global Technology Services is looking for a Sr. Developer and data engineer to manage risk management applications. As a Sr. Developer architect and delivery of modern web‑based applications, enterprise data platforms, and AI‑enabled solutions. This role requires a hands‑on technical resource with deep experience in Java and Python development, cloud‑native web applications, large‑scale data engineering, and AI/ML capabilities on Databricks running on AWS
 The VP will be responsible for shaping technology, ensuring engineering excellence, and delivering scalable, secure platforms that support analytics, automation, decision‑making, and regulatory or business‑critical use cases
What you will be responsible for
As a Sr. developer and data engineer you will
- Define data, and AI platform strategy spanning web applications, APIs, data pipelines, and AI‑enabled services.
- Drive adoption of cloud‑native, scalable architectures on AWS, leveraging Databricks as a core data and AI platform.
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices across web, data, and AI domains.
- Ensure all platforms align with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory requirements
- Lead design and evolution of web‑based applications and services built using Java, Python, and modern web architectures.
- Oversee development of RESTful APIs, microservices, and UI‑driven applications integrated with enterprise data platforms.
- Provide overall technical leadership for enterprise‑scale data engineering solutions.
- Oversee design and optimization of batch and streaming data pipelines using Databricks (Spark / PySpark) on AWS.
- Lead the integration of AI/ML tools and techniques into web and data platforms.
- Enable development of AI‑ready datasets, feature engineering pipelines, and model inference capabilities.
What we value

- 15+ years of experience in software and data engineering
- Strong hands‑on background in Java and Python development.
- Proven experience leading web‑based applications, APIs, and services in enterprise environments.
- Deep experience in Data Engineering and large‑scale platforms.
- Significant experience with Databricks on AWS, including Spark / PySpark.
- Practical experience applying AI/ML tools and techniques in production or enterprise platforms.
- Strong understanding of cloud‑native architectures, security, and governance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Masters or B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field
Additional requirements
- Familiarity with AI/ML platform patterns, MLOps, or model lifecycle management.
- Exposure to risk, regulatory, finance, or highly governed environments.
- Cloud, Databricks, or AI‑related certifications.
- Experience working with global or distributed engineering teams
Salary Range:
$120,000 - $202,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
