CLA is growing and seeking to hire an experienced Director TaxTransformation to join our talented National Tax Services Team. This role directs tax innovation priority projects, ensures CLA's tax processes and procedures are standardized, and helps drive implementation of national tax practice initiatives.

How You'll Create Opportunities In This Role

  • Leadership & Oversight
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering professional growth and operational excellence.
    • Serve as escalation point for project challenges, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder alignment.
  • Project Management
    • Own the execution of firmwide transformation projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
    • Develop project plans, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress against milestones.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to firm objectives.
    • Serve as escalation point for project challenges, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder alignment.
  • Collaboration
    • Build strong relationships with service line leaders, industry leaders, and subject matter experts (SMEs).
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to prioritize initiatives and allocate resources effectively.
  • Communication & Training
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
    • Design and deliver communication strategies to encourage adoption of transformation initiatives.
    • Oversee development of training materials and ensure effective delivery.
  • Success Metrics
    • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for transformation projects.
    • Partner with firm leadership to evaluate outcomes and recommend adjustments

Experience

  • 7 years of public accounting or professional services experience required.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of CLA processes is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Degrees in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) preferred
  • Strong project management skills required (attention to accuracy, timeliness, conflict resolution, and alignment to priorities and commitments) preferred
  • Basic knowledge of one or more applications used by CLA’s practitioners preferred (CCH Axcess Tax suite, CCH Pfx Engagement, FloQast, QuickBooks, etc.) preferred

Our approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth. We pay competitive wages and view compensation as an investment in our people. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range.

The compensation range for this position in California is: $136,600.00 – $230,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Illinois is: $116,200.00 – $207,000.00
