The team you will be a part of

The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

This role in summary

The manager of Manufacturing Engineering directs and coordinates the Manufacturing Engineering team, leading engineers assigned to critical areas. This role utilizes data to drive continuous improvement, balances urgent sustaining actions with a long-term strategy for equipment, processes, and systems in a highly automated plant. Responsibilities also include leadership over specific reliability engineering aspects, supporting the Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) program with Maintenance. Crucially, this role ensures the definition, utilization, and successful deployment of a robust performance management system to meet organizational metrics.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Mentor, train, and develop direct reports for Engineering support.
  • Develop and lead area Performance Management systems, directing engineering decisions for short/long-term objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with Productivity Engineering to address key issues as the area Process Owner leader.
  • Direct Manufacturing Engineers' assignments and allocate resources to support the Manufacturing Floor.
  • Support NPD/NPI activities (New Product /New process development, Pilots, and ECRs).
  • Collaborate with Production, Continuous Improvement (WCM), and Automated System Technicians to ensure safe, optimal operation, continuously monitoring equipment performance via digital dashboards.
  • Guide troubleshooting, designing, and redesigning complex automation systems.
  • Establish Engineering standards and procedures for consistent, optimized sustaining engineering.
  • Support reliability engineering through data collection, spare parts lists, PM recommendations, and utilizing SPC/data to improve equipment uptime.
  • Document improvements and participate in feedback/Kaizen events.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • 3+ years of experience implementing continuous improvement, such as Kaizen or other similar continuous improvements
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role
  • 1+ years of experience designing and implementing new assembly lines and New Products 

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • Metal Fabrication, Assembly, and or System Integration experience preferred
  • Computer skills such as MS Office, Autocad, Oracle, and Google
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team-building skills
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities.
