Senior Project Manager

 

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead vegetation management projects that safeguard critical utility infrastructure and promote environmental responsibility. This role combines strategic leadership, operational excellence, and team development to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest level of safety standards while promoting our long-standing professional culture. 

 

Pay: Salary $130,000-$190,000; Based Upon Current Skills and Prior Experience

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of the project life cycle under vegetation management master service contracts. 
  • Collaborate with client, stakeholders and field supervision to establish and oversee field operations, coordinate crews, and drive project execution. 
  • Lead project strategy and optimization efforts, identifying efficiencies in budget, scheduling, and operations.
  • Mentor and coach junior Project Managers and field supervisors to cultivate a high-performing team.
  • Enhance client relationships and be a primary escalation point for major issues or high-profile projects.
  • Utilize advanced project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) for planning, risk assessment, and scheduling.
  • Administer change orders, submit and track timekeeping, equipment/fuel usage, jobsite inventory, progress reports, and supervision logs.
  • Track materials and gather receipts and documentation for crew activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with company and client safety, environmental, contractual, and regulatory standards. 
  • Attend weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual meetings with the client and internal teams.
  • Promote a safe and professional working environment through our strong business culture. 
  • Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly compliance and operational reports to clients. 
  • Develop financial forecasting reports for clients.
  • Facilitate weekly, monthly, and annual meeting discussions with clients. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Forestry, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in vegetation management, right-of-way clearing, utility services, or similar heavy civil sectors.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Microsoft Project, Primavera or similar tools. 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in dynamic environments and foster a culture of safety and accountability. 

 

Traveling requirements: 

  • Travel up to 25% across Wisconsin and neighboring states. 

 

Pre-Screen:

  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

 

License and Certification:

  • PMP certification required.
  • A valid Driver's license required

 

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions:

  • Regular site visits in outdoor settings; walking on uneven terrain, climbing, and variable weather exposure.
  • Standard workweek may include weekends or extended hours during peak phases or storm work
  • Must be able to wear required PPE and adhere to all safety policies and procedures during site visits.
