Position Summary


 Coordinates the processing and loading of personnel and cargo in accordance with deployment plans and aircraft schedules. Performs passenger service functions to ensure quality customer service and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and the Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR). Supports air terminal operations by managing passenger processing, dispatch duties, aircraft status boards, and the communication of movement information to the ADACG Operations/Shift Leader. Provides direct assistance to deploying units, ensuring proper manifesting, briefing, and movement of personnel through designated processing areas within a secure military deployment environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the movement and processing of passengers and cargo through the air terminal and designated deployment areas.
  • Assists deploying units with passenger manifesting, ensuring all manifests are legible, accurate, and complete with required data.
  • Conducts troop commander briefings in accordance with anti‑hijacking procedures and verifies that all hand‑carried items meet established size and weight restrictions.
  • Provides passengers with updated flight information, including delays or changes.
  • Performs passenger service dispatch duties, maintains aircraft status boards, receives air mission setups, and relays passenger movement information to the ADACG Operations/Shift Leader.
  • Reports to designated aircraft loading zones, including secure areas, to support loading operations.
  • Conducts visual inspections of military personnel to ensure compliance with regulations regarding carry‑on items.
  • Pays special attention to sensitive or controlled items—such as medical supplies or hazardous materials—to verify proper packaging, labeling, documentation, and container use. Reports violations as required by applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Operates material handling equipment, including forklifts, to load or reposition cargo as needed.
  • Ensures physical security of passengers within loading zones and inspects all items prior to loading onto aircraft.
  • Reviews cargo and baggage shipping papers for accuracy, proper description, and completeness.
  • Ensures deploying units adhere to established movement timelines.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by section leadership and management.
  • Maintains extensive interaction with customers and provides high‑quality service in a demanding operational environment.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Requires long, strenuous hours and the ability to work an uncommon tour of duty, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Involves standing, walking, lifting, and carrying materials.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Must comply with OSHA, EPA, fire regulations, and all company work rules.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of transportation functions, programs, regulations, and guidelines necessary to perform cargo weighing and inspection duties.
  • Knowledge of safety and security regulations, procedures, and methods to maintain required standards impacting the loading of personnel and equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to compose and present information in required formats.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel between administrative and aircraft operations areas.
  • Ability to follow instructions, meet operational timelines, and interact professionally with customers and military personnel.
