Position Summary

The Ultrasound Student Tech supports the Diagnostic Imaging Department by assisting sonographers in performing ultrasound examinations. This role is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and have completed the first semester.  


Responsibilities

  • Assist sonographers with patient positioning and preparation for ultrasound exams
  • Escort and transport patients to and from the imaging area
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment
  • Observe ultrasound scanning techniques and assist with documentation
  • Provide compassionate care and maintain patient comfort throughout procedures
  • Perform limited scanning under direct supervision, in accordance with clinical competencies
  • Comply with hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and safety standards

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Sonography program with successful completion of first semester
  • BLS certification 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to patient care
