- Analyze complex and non‑standard customer contracts, including multi‑element arrangements, variable consideration, and contract modifications.
- Document conclusions through clear, comprehensive technical accounting memos and ensure appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606.
- Provide real‑time accounting guidance to Sales, Legal, and Operations to help structure deals that meet revenue recognition requirements and support commercial objectives.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to establish and maintain a controlled, efficient go‑to‑market framework.
- Ensure proper setup, configuration, and maintenance within revenue systems to enable accurate and timely revenue recognition.
- Support implementation of scalable processes that strengthen data quality, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Prepare and post revenue‑related journal entries within Zuora and Workday, including deferred revenue, contract assets, and related accounts.
- Support monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and review reconciliations for key revenue‑related balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriate supporting documentation.
- Serve as control owner for key revenue controls, including Standalone Selling Price (SSP) testing and contract review controls.
- Maintain SOX compliance documentation and identify opportunities to strengthen and streamline internal controls.
- Act as a primary point of contact for revenue‑related audit inquiries (internal and external).
- Prepare supporting schedules, walkthrough documentation, and technical accounting analyses to ensure an efficient and successful audit process.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
- Extensive hands-on experience with ASC 606Â revenue recognition, preferably in SaaS or high-growth technology environments.
- Prior experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) or complex technical accounting roles.
- Strong ability to interpret and analyze complex contracts and revenue arrangements.
- Demonstrated proficiency preparing technical memos, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Experience with Zuora, Workday, or similar revenue automation systems.
- Strong understanding of SOX requirements and control ownership.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience in a publicly traded or SaaS company.
- Advanced experience supporting large-scale audits.
- Strong process-improvement mindset with the ability to drive scalable system and workflow enhancements.
- Ability to influence cross‑functionally and build strong partnerships across the organization.
Compensation Range:
$92,972-$129,231Compensation for this job is subject to market conditions, geographic considerations, the candidate’s unique skills and experience, state and local laws, and budget.
