Hanna Imports is a growing automotive group with multiple dealership locations throughout North Carolina. We are committed to providing exceptional customer service while maintaining accurate, efficient, and compliant accounting operations. Our Accounting Department plays a critical role in supporting every area of the dealership, including Sales, Finance, Service, Parts, and Administration.

We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate is organized, motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced dealership environment. Previous dealership accounting experience is strongly preferred.

Position Summary

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and administrative duties to support daily dealership operations. Responsibilities may include processing vehicle deals, accounts payable, accounts receivable, title work, inventory accounting, warranty administration, bank reconciliations, funding, schedule maintenance, and other accounting functions as assigned.

This position requires accuracy, confidentiality, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with multiple departments.

Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Process and post vehicle sales deals accurately and timely.

  • Verify funding, contracts, and deal documentation.

  • Process warranty remittances and cancellations.

  • Post accounts payable invoices and process vendor payments.

  • Process accounts receivable transactions and customer payments.

  • Prepare and reconcile daily deposits, electronic payments, and credit card batches.

  • Reconcile bank accounts, schedules, and general ledger accounts.

  • Assist with title processing and inventory transactions.

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and filing systems.

  • Support month-end closing procedures.

  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.

  • Communicate with vendors, lenders, customers, and internal departments.

  • Assist with payroll and administrative functions when needed.

  • Cross-train in multiple accounting functions to provide departmental coverage.

  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and customer information.

  • Perform additional accounting or administrative duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous dealership accounting experience preferred.

  • DealerTrack DMS experience preferred, but not required.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent data entry accuracy.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Professional attitude and appearance.

  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday

  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Occasional paid overtime as business needs require
