Associate Attorney

Smith Debnam (www.smithdebnamlaw.com) is seeking candidates for a full-time litigation associate position to assist in the representation of Creditors' Rights in consumer matters.

The following are prerequisites for this position:

• Minimum of one year’s experience in litigation in private practice
• Handle substantial case volume with minimal supervision
• Handle hearings, trials and other matters in various jurisdictions throughout NC (and SC as licensing allows)
• Manage staff effectively in support of practice with an understanding of the business aspects of managing an efficient law practice
• Negotiate effective settlements and case resolution on behalf of clients
• Live/work out of Raleigh-Durham-RTP area in NC

Ideal candidate’s experience will include:

• Dual licensed in NC and SC (or willingness to obtain SC licensure)
• Three years’ practice experience representing creditors in state court
• Preference for in-office work environment in a collegial culture

This position requires being regularly present in our Raleigh, NC office, except when travelling to court appearances across the state (estimated court travel requirement of 20% to 40%.)
