Job Description   We are currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Custodian. The Custodian will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, dining rooms, stairwells and public areas. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, flexible, able to work independently and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. Primary responsibilities: Empty trash cans and replace can liners. Dust, clean and disinfect surfaces as needed. Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces. Sweep, vacuum and mop floors as appropriate. Perform periodic and as-needed carpet cleaning. Service, clean and supply restrooms with mops and disinfectants. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees as appropriate. Monitor supply room stock levels. Monitor and maintain equipment (vacuums, sweepers, carpet cleaners, etc) used for cleaning. Mix various cleaning agents as needed. Perform and document routine inspection activities. Maintain and monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours. Move heavy equipment and furniture as needed. Identify and report possible repair issues. Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects as needed. Clean designated building areas in an efficient, timely manner without supervision. Follow all health and safety regulations as well as all Springmoor policies and procedures. Requirements: Proven working experience as a custodian. Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies. Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets. Integrity and ability to work independently. High school diploma preferred. Willingness to work alternate weekends. Ability to work with the rest of the staff.
