Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: 

  • Responsible for the preparation and serving of patient, staff and visitor meals and snacks according to dietary guidelines. Assists cooks as needed.  Operate needed equipment to accomplish service.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of work area, dishes, utensils, and pots and pans according to dietary procedures.
  • Puts away stock following procedures and pulls items from coolers, storerooms, and freezers

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Education/Training: 

High school degree / GED or ten years of experience

 

Experience:

Six months of dietary, retail, or commercial food service experience preferred

 

Licensure/Certification:

            None required

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Able to do inventory of items and fill orders to par levels.
  • Ability to work independently while performing assigned tasks correctly
  • Able to run and fill assorted foodservice machines such as beverage dispensers, steam tables, and popcorn machines.
  • Able to follow diagrams and lists to complete patient trays to specifications
  • Ability to interact with customers in a pleasant manner and able to handle customer complaints and problems.
