Primary Function
Responsible for promoting sales through obtaining third party financing and the extension of credit and improving receivables turnover through timely collection of accounts and notes.
Essential Duties
Financing Activities
- Arrange financing and funding of equipment sales satisfactory to GPEC and the customer.
- Collects document fees, property taxes, conversion interest and CAT insurance fees among other things as required
- Maintains a log in Excel of each finance deal in the “Finance Deal Tracker” workbook
Credits & Collections
- Secure information necessary to process credit requests from internal and external customers.
- Determine credit worthiness through use of references, job history, financial statements, etc.
- Assign credit limits for open accounts; handle these accounts on daily basis; review and update regularly.
- Approve leases and orders and/or quality as necessary, deposits, guarantees, closing follow-up, down payments.
- Approve security agreements and coordinate finance arrangements, payments, terms, and interest rates with sales personnel and customers.
- Maintain open account, lease, contract delinquency within GPEC standards.
- Solicit appropriate salesman to help as necessary.
- Use of litigation as necessary.
- Repossess timely, issue notices, advertise, hold legal sale.
- Recover bad debt through use of above methods and collection agencies.
- Assist with customer related problems such as disputes, journal entries, credits, and monthly statements.
Minimum Requirements
Education
College degree in business administration or equivalent, including a basic knowledge of economics, finance, accounting, statistics, marketing, credit, management, and research methods.
Work Experience
- 2+ years' experience in a financing role or equivalent experience.
Physical
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Other
- Experience with equipment financing preferred
- Experience in credit/collection within a large credit organization with emphasis on the statistical and financial aspects and unique problems of credit work preferred.
- Familiarity with PC software applications including Windows and MS office.
- Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.
