The Position: The Park Custodian is directly responsible for the cleanliness and safety of WRAL Soccer Park as well as other NCFCY Facilities.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as a front-line ambassador for members, guests and staff while providing a clean and safe environment.
- Remain in constant communication with park management.
- Patrol park for safety concerns/issues.
- Clean up litter and empty trash/recycle cans.
- Open/close parks.
- Keeps gardens and trees at NCFC property free from trash.
- Clean restrooms, all building and equipment at NCFC property, and rectify problems as needed.
- Ensure the restroom facilities are deep cleaned weekly.
- Monitors, measures, and reports on operational issues impacting the NCFC facilities operations and provides solutions and/or recommendations for improvement.
- Able to lift 50 pounds regularly and repeatedly.
- Other duties as assigned by Park Supervisor.
Qualifications/Competencies:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License
- Able to adhere to OSHA safety requirements and standards
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Frequent contact with local citizens and other employees within the department, requiring tact and judgment
- Detail-oriented
- Must maintain professionalism in all manners while remaining flexible, yet dependable
Job Type Requirements:
- Full-time; hourly position.
- Hours vary based on programming, but it is expected that this individual will work as needed and put in extra hours to fulfil all job requirements. Typical work hours are 1:00pm - 9:00pm, Monday-Friday, but some flexibility in schedule.Â
- Must have ability to work long, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment/Travel/Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Â
- Job entails regular exposure to cold, heat, dust, fumes, and noise.
- Frequent lifting 50-100 lbs; frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and standing.
