Description

The Manager of Business Intelligence and Data Strategist is responsible for utilizing and leveraging NCMA and NCMA Winston-Salem data to drive actionable insights and strategy that optimize operations and achieve strategic goals. This position works closely with the CFO and Director/CEO as well as collaborates with the Museum Evaluator, who is responsible for managing audience research findings and recommendations of organizational structure. The position reports directly to the CFO.


Responsibilities

  • Utilizes advanced analytical techniques to identify and analyze the linkages and interactions among our systems (Tessitura, Intacct, Square, TruTrade, Catering Works Square, Bill.com, website, etc.)
  • Extracts insights from large datasets and provides data-driven recommendations to achieve strategic goals, specifically to improve the visitor experience while maximizing revenue and fundraising opportunities
  • Leverages skills in data manipulation, visualization, and statistical modelling to support NCMA teams in solving complex business challenges
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, combined with strong business judgment and an understanding of demand analysis, profitability, and pipeline management
  • Supports teams with a focus on revenue-generating departments in problem solving, creating value and improving productivity
  • Leverages business and analytical acumen to advise, design, and implement operational processes that improve internal systems, increase attendance and revenue, and offer new ways of thinking
  • Plays an important role in supporting team members’ understanding of the relationship between their work and how it impacts the business, the visitor, and the mission; plays an important role in introducing opportunities to enhance these impacts
  • Partners with leadership and team members to ensure collective ownership of quality, timelines, and deliverables
  • Takes ownership of projects, ensuring their successful planning, budgeting, execution, and completion
  • Effectively mentors others and demonstrates ability to build trust with internal team members and external stakeholders
  • Uses the review of work as an opportunity to deepen the expertise of team members
  • Addresses conflicts or issues, engaging in difficult conversations with leadership, team members, and other stakeholders as needed
  • Embraces innovation and demonstrates mission-focused entrepreneurial thinking

Requirements

  • BA or BS with a quantitative focus (economics, finance, business)
  • Highly experienced systems or data analyst (10+ years)
  • Strong expertise in data collection, data management, source data analysis, data mapping and modeling
  • Strong experience leading effective data-based decision-making processes
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; highest level presentation, project management, and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM software
  • Experience in nonprofit environment, preferably working within dynamic cultural organization, highly desirable
