National Coatings is growing, and we're looking for a detail‑oriented, people‑focused Payroll & HR Specialist to join our team. If you're passionate about accuracy, exceptional employee service, and making an impact across an organization, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

  • Audit timesheets and punches; resolve discrepancies.
  • Process weekly payroll and ensure accurate data transfer.
  • Prepare ACH templates and initiate direct deposits.
  • Manage HSA, retirement, and other deduction payments.
  • Support payroll and workers' comp audits and federal reporting.
  • Maintain payroll accuracy and internal controls.
  • Prepare weekly payroll GL files and certified payroll reports.
  • Remit monthly insurance and third‑party vendor invoices.

Benefits Administration

  • Administer medical, dental, vision, HSA, and retirement plans.
  • Oversee annual 5500 reporting.
  • Support benchmarking to ensure competitive benefits.
  • Process enrollments, terminations, and life‑event changes.
  • Serve as a resource for benefit questions and issue resolution.

People and Culture

  • Participate in special hiring initiatives and talent‑focused projects.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities to ensure a smooth employee experience.
  • Help ensure compliance with external agencies, federal/state regulations, and internal policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with divisional leaders.
  • Protect confidential information and handle sensitive matters with discretion.

Documentation & Records Management

  • Assist with Quarterly Rocks and special projects.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding.
  • Maintain compliance with external agencies and internal policies.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion.

Training & LMS Administration

  • Manage onboarding, compliance, safety, and performance training through the LMS.
  • Assign and track training modules; follow up on completion.
  • Upload and format new training content.
  • Generate LMS reports and identify training gaps.
  • Partner with leaders to improve training quality and usability.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of payroll and/or HR experience preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms or Eclipse is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • High professionalism, confidentiality, and communication skills.
