Responsibilities:


- Sterilize instruments: Ensure proper sterilization of dental instruments and equipment following established infection control protocols.

- Set up and clean up rooms: Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, including arranging necessary instruments, materials, and equipment. Clean and disinfect treatment areas after each patient.

- Maintain dental equipment: Assist in the maintenance and organization of dental equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order and ready for use.

- Order dental supplies: Monitor inventory levels of dental supplies and communicate with the appropriate personnel to ensure timely procurement and restocking.

- Take x-rays: Utilize your x-ray certification to capture diagnostic radiographs as directed by the dentist. Ensure proper technique and radiation safety protocols are followed.

- Assist chairside as needed: Support the dentist during dental procedures by providing chairside assistance, passing instruments, maintaining a clear field, and anticipating the needs of the dentist and patient.

- Facilitate sedation appointments: Assist with monitoring patients undergoing sedation, including hooking them up to monitoring equipment, starting IVs, and ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.  Assist in preparing patients for sedation: Follow pre-operative protocols, obtain medical clearances, and conduct interviews as necessary.- Maintain accurate records: Collaborate with the dental team to ensure thorough documentation of patient information, treatment plans, and sedation records. Assist in logging and tracking medication counts for compliance and safety.


Requirements:


- Current registered nurse

- Current OSHA and HIPPA certificates

- Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols

- Excellent organizational skills- Ability to work well in a team environment

- Exceptional attention to detail- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
