We are hiring a Team Lead, Medical Assistant-Registered who plays a key role in supporting clinical excellence across WakeMed Physician Practices. In this role, you'll perform Medical Assistant duties while helping onboard, train, and mentor new team members to ensure consistent clinic workflows, patient care practices, and adherence to organizational standards.

What you'll do

  • Perform all duties of a Medical Assistant while serving as a clinical resource for team members.
  • Support new hire orientation and provide training on Medical Assistant workflows, processes, and job responsibilities.
  • Educate staff on provider-directed patient care, approved protocols, standing orders, and WakeMed policies and procedures.
  • Promote consistency and quality by modeling best practices and standards of care.
  • Collaborate effectively with clinical staff and providers while supporting multiple clinic locations as needed.

Who you are

  • Certified or registered through one of the following organizations: American Academy of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
  • Experienced as a Medical Assistant with a strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient care practices.
  • An effective communicator who works well with providers, clinical staff, and new team members.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in different locations, managing changing priorities, and maintaining a flexible schedule.
  • Committed to continuous learning and supporting the mission and values of WakeMed.
