Job Summary

A Site Safety Coordinator must exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative in identifying current and potential safety hazards and deficiencies and making recommendations for corrective action. This class receives general supervision from the Safety Administrator who reviews work through meetings, reports, and the evaluation of overall results achieved

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Safety Coordinators focus on health and safety issues, such as preventing workplace accidents.  job duties and responsibilities center around safety goals and often include:

  • Planning your health and safety program and protocols

  • Teaching supervisors, managers and other leaders in the company about health and safety standards

  • Presenting safety training sessions to the company

  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulations

  • Handling risk assessments to gather information on safety issues

Qualifications

Experience leading safety in an industrial setting

Progress toward or achievement of safety credentialing

Physical Demands

Wear safety PPE and be on site for many hours of a work day (up to 12 hours)
