About Us

The NC Department of Administration is the business manager for North Carolina state government. The department oversees Government Operations such as building construction, purchasing and contracting for goods and services, maintaining facilities, managing state vehicles, acquiring and disposing of real property, and operating auxiliary services such as courier mail delivery and the sale of state and federal surplus property. Additionally, the department manages many of the state's advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the state's population that have been traditionally underserved.

Description of Work

The Policy Coordinator supports policy development and implementation, provides strategic operational planning and execution, and conducts special projects that address a wide range of business and operational needs within DOA. This position also provides integral staff support to numerous boards and commissions housed at DOA, including planning meetings, communicating activities, and coordinating logistics and administrative support.

This Policy Coordinator reports directly to and operates under the supervision of the Policy Director.

Key Responsibilities:

-Develops and enhances relationships with fellow state agencies, external partners, and other stakeholders to further DOA boards and commissions’ partnership goals.
-Provides administrative, operational, and strategic support to DOA boards and commissions.
-Conducts independent research, performs policy analysis, and develops preliminary policy proposals.
-Collaborates with DOA division directors and internal and external stakeholders to assess, interpret, and/or respond to governmental policies and legislation that impact the department.
-Supports the development and implementation of transformative projects that promote innovation to achieve DOA’s operational and strategic objectives; and
-Provides administrative and programmatic support to department leadership, offering technical assistance to ensure effective policy implementation and positive service delivery outcomes to all stakeholders.

MAX SALARY FOR THIS POSITION: $47,805

Recruitment Range: $39,244-$47,805
