About the Role: 

The Baler/Forklift Operator is responsible for supporting daily recycling and production operations by safely operating forklifts, industrial balers, and automated equipment. This role ensures the efficient movement and processing of materials, performs routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance, monitors product quality, and maintains a clean and safe work environment. The operator works closely with operations teams to maximize operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with all company policies and safety regulations.

Shift: M-F 5AM-1:30PM, Occasional Saturday's – Willingness to stay until 4:30PM | Location: Hillburn, NY | Pay Rate: $25.73

• Performs duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Monitor the flow of materials ensuring they are loaded correctly into the baler
• Performs duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Operates industrial balers and automated bunker system in the recycling plant, forklifts, machinery, and other equipment.
• Performs all assigned basic preventative maintenance on industrial balers and associated equipment.
• Makes minor repairs and adjustments to industrial balers and associated equipment.
• Operates computer controlled automated bunker system.
• Properly utilize balers and bunkers to ensure single stream processing is not interrupted.
• Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area including equipment and work areas.
• Maintain timely, appropriate, and professional communications with plan operations, maintenance department, and baler supervisor.
• Provide daily baler production reports to plan operations.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Driver’s License (if applicable).
• Must be able to read, speak, and write basic English
• Mechanical aptitude
• Previous experience operating industrial machinery
• Experience in the Recycling industry preferred.

Preferred Job Qualifications: 

• Performs duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Operates industrial balers and Loader in the recycling plant.
• Performs all assigned basic preventative maintenance on industrial balers and associated equipment.
• Makes minor repairs and adjustments to industrial balers and associated equipment.
• Operates computer controlled automated bunker system.
• Properly utilize balers and bunkers to ensure single stream processing is not interrupted.
• Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area including equipment and work areas.
• Maintain timely, appropriate, and professional communications with plan operations, maintenance department, and baler supervisor.
• Provide daily baler production reports to plan operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Willingness to train on and operate a wheeled bucket loader to provide shift coverage as needed.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: 

The normal work environment is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring necessary precautions, including PPE
