Chemical Plant Refrigeration Mechanic

SKpharmteco is a custom manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients and registered intermediates for customers in the pharmaceutical industry. We are looking for a Chemical Plant Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team at our Rancho Cordova, CA location. This position DOES NOT require any travel and the duties performed will be at one location. 

SUMMARY

Installs, overhauls, services and maintains air conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment as related to refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Provides maintenance and construction support for all types of refrigeration systems in fine chemical and pharmaceutical production plants, pilot plants and laboratories.

WORK PERFORMED

Installs, overhauls, services and maintains air conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment as related to refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Maintains humidity control equipment. Trouble shoots, diagnoses and makes incidental repairs to electrical and instrumentation equipment associated with the air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Assembles, disassembles, replaces or repairs worn and/or defective parts as required on all control components, energy saving devices, back to 480 panel.

Periodically checks and makes mechanical adjustments to equipment to ensure efficient operation and determine need for repairs, replacement or overhaul.

Installs and repairs insulation in support of the job duties described herein. Uses all types of mechanic hand and power tools, hand torches, flaring tools and test equipment required performing work described herein.

May assist other crafts as required under the direction of the primary craft.

Maintains a clean work environment in the plant, shop, grounds, etc., as well as any areas worked in.

Computer use to include: entry of work orders, investigation of parts, access manuals and training.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate or equivalent, preferably trade or vocational school. Four (4) years commercial or industrial experience in refrigeration and air conditioning service work. Must also hold current valid CFC certification card and adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding the handling, charging and recovery of refrigerant. Must have mechanical skills necessary to perform the work described above.

The individual filling this position must be able to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures. Must also be able to maintain a high level of performance and teamwork to keep the chemical plant facility up to maximum production levels.

We are a 24/7, 365 chemical manufacturing facility. This is a union position. Candidates must be open to any shift, weekends and holidays.
