Position Responsibilities:  

  • The Facilities Technician is responsible for troubleshooting facility systems, development and implementing process improvements, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, and monitoring contractor performance. This position ensures the safe and reliable operation of new equipment and maintains the facility's mechanical safety standards.
  • Administer a wide variety of methods, procedures, and techniques to lay out, install, overhaul and maintain various types of machines encompassing mechanical and electrical systems  
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and machinery and adjust and examine parts for defects in the warehouse 
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, handle boiler blow downs, and record readings of critical operating parameters as the technician 
  • Records repairs, maintenance, parts, materials used, and orders or requisitions new parts and materials 
  • As part of the selection process, candidates must successfully pass a technical skills assessment evaluating facility maintenance, building systems, utilities, HVAC, plumbing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and facility reliability support capabilities. Additional job-related technical knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, and role-specific competencies may also be assessed based on operational needs, equipment, systems, and facility requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Required Education and Experience:  

  • High School Diploma/General Education Diploma with 0 to 2 years of related experience

Preferred Education and Experience:  

  • Electrical Certification or Vocational Certification
