Overview

Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a Training Manager - Track, Structures, and ROW in Rancho Cucamonga, CA to join our team.

 

The pay range for this position is $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.

  • Research, interpret, and communicate current OSHA, FRA, and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations; advise management and supervisors of regulatory revisions and requirements applicable to company operations.
  • Promote compliance with company, customer, and regulatory safety programs through ongoing training, education, communication, and field engagement.
  • Conduct new-hire orientations, refresher training, specialized safety courses, daily safety meetings, and job hazard analysis activities, including training in hazard recognition, emergency response, fall protection, confined-space entry, and other critical safety topics.
  • Lead and administer the area’s on-the-job training program; monitor, document, and track employee training and required records.
  • Conduct routine and unannounced safety inspections and audits of jobsites, public areas, and adjacent areas; identify unsafe acts and conditions and ensure timely corrective action.
  • Perform risk assessments and job hazard analyses; investigate incidents, injuries, accidents, and near misses and implement corrective and preventive measures to reduce recurrence.
  • Complete, review, and submit incident, injury, accident, and other required reports in a timely manner; ensure injured employees receive appropriate medical attention.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with jobsite safety rules, company policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate and participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations; conduct random and post-incident drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in occupational safety, railroad safety, construction safety, industrial safety, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, FRA, and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Experience conducting safety training, inspections, audits, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and track training records and required safety documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, management, subcontractors, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to identify unsafe conditions, recommend corrective actions, and work independently in a field-based environment.

 

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and endorsements as required per position.
  • Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

  • Work primarily in an office environment.
  • Frequently sits for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently use a computer keyboard and office related equipment.
  • Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, stooping or bending.
  • Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
  • Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
