Job Objective:

Schedules surgeries/procedures across multiple department and facilities providing timely, efficient and customer friendly service. Accurately captures the need for other scheduled services or needs associated with the scheduled case and communicates appropriately.

Job Description:

Education: Required: High school diploma, GED or higher level degree if hired after March 1, 2025 Licensure/Certification: N/A Experience: Required: Two (2) years of front office or scheduling experience in healthcare

Essential Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2. Schedules surgery/procedures with assigned physician at appropriate facility or department; initial scheduling and rearranging surgical patients based on surgeon preference and/or facility needs; lifts surgeon blocks to improve utilization of time. 3. Verifies insurance and authorizations for surgeries. 4. Audits patient charts for completeness/accuracy prior to scheduling with appropriate facility or department. 5. Schedules accurately to prevent operative/procedural delays and case cancellations. 6. Captures physician requests for scheduling STAT cases and attempts to complete within 72 hours. 7. Acts as liaison to patient during the scheduling process providing and communicating information on surgical/procedural date/time, itinerary, maps/directions and important information necessary for a positive experience. 8. Arranges pre- and post-operative appointments for assigned patients. 9. Processes patient communication; written, verbal, patient consults, data input, problem delegation/resolution and process improvement. 10. Organizes work time in order complete tasks in assigned timeframe; identifies and escalates issues as appropriate, to leader in a timely manner. 11. Responsible for scheduling interviews for appropriate departments prior to intervention/surgery, if applicable. 12. Acts as revenue custodian by accurately completing and processing case updates, procedures and supply charges for assigned department(s), if applicable. 13. Performs other duties as assigned.
