Job Objective:

Responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function for Eisenhower Medical Associates (EMA), and the general business operations of the medical group.

Job Description:

Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare management, human resources, or a related field
Preferred: Master’s degree in business, healthcare management, human resources, or a related field

Licensure/Certification:
Preferred: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification

Experience:

Required: Five (5) years of progressive HR management experience

Preferred: Experience working with healthcare professionals

Reports To: Vice President, Eisenhower Medical Associates
Supervises: Supervisor-Physician Employment, Physician Employment Specialist
Ages of Patients: N/A
Blood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/ No Potential

Essential Responsibilities

1. Establishes, evaluates, reviews, and implements human resource management systems, policies, processes, and standards in accordance with federal and state regulatory requirements, for the medical group.
2. Oversees all aspects of the Employee Relations program for EMA through the application of HR programs, policies, procedures and practices utilizing the fair treatment, investigatory, corrective action and conflict resolution processes ultimately ensuring employees and management are advised, counseled and coached fairly and consistently about issues pertaining to corrective action, separation agreements, layoffs, job eliminations and involuntary terminations; investigates, provides guidance and ensures preparation of documentation for sexual harassment or hostile work environment issues for management action.
3. Develops systems and oversees implementation of performance appraisals for medical group employees.
4. Develops polices pertaining to the employee application and onboarding process, including the pre-employment screening process.
5. Develops and maintains job descriptions for all positions in department and EMA.
6. Develops metrics for performance incentive compensation.
7. Works with the medical system legal department and outside HR counsel as required with regard to managing personnel matters and other issues affecting the medical group.
8. Supports Physician Vice Presidents and Physician Medical Directors in the areas of discipline, performance improvement, and termination.
9. Evaluates and recommends benefit programs for the medical group.
10. Works with the medical group team and the 401k oversight committee in setting policies, administering, and auditing the 401k plan.  
11. Evaluates the cause of employee turnover and works with leadership to minimize turnover.
12. Assists the medical group Vice President with the management of the medical group support team.
13. Oversees the payroll process for the medical group.
14. Oversees the expense reimbursement process for the medical group.
15. Oversees implementation of PTO/CME policies for the group and ensures systems are in place to accurately track the use of PTO/CME.
16. Oversees the implementation of leave policies for the medical group and work with individual employees with regard to leaves.
17. Assists the medical group Vice President in preparing the medical group annual budget for areas of responsibility.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.
