BASIC FUNCTIONS

The Material Handler / Packager / Warehouse Worker is responsible for executing all operational activities within production and the warehouse including but not limited to operating power equipment, packaging, bagging, kit assembly line, material handling, palletizing, wrapping, picking, pack material inventory, organizing and retrieving jobs, inventory, and other duties. Daily interaction with manager for direction, job assignments, and priorities. This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.


SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Safely operates sit-down and standup forklift, power equipment and pallet jacks
  • Loads and unloads trucks and materials as needed
  • Processes incoming and outgoing production jobs, creates labels as needed
  • Performs Put-Away, Picks & Movements, using scan guns, computer, and routing procedures.
  • Bagging and labeling of items for sub-assemblies and kits
  • Packaging of production line jobs to military and commercial standards including bagging and labeling of items for sub-assemblies and kits
  • Ensures production areas are clean and organized, performing daily cleaning and organization of all materials
  • Maintain floor working areas and floor environment by monitoring the floor for cleanliness, organization and proper locations for product and materials.
  • Controls and Handles Packaging Supplies counting / verification, replenishment / put-away, and marking / labeling on a daily basis, notifying Manager of low inventory levels
  • Performs inventory cycle and verification counts inventory control equipment such as barcode readers or handheld devices
  • Perform other related duties / functions and personnel backups as assigned
  • Must be able to handle / lift 70lbs.
  • Able to be standing, stooping, bending and active for eight hours a day
  • Assists in wrapping, staging & marking completed work pending shipment.
  • Participates actively in continuous process improvement projects, seeks ways to develop and maximize productivity levels.
  • Contributes actively to achieving departmental goals.
  • Communicate regularly with Manager to ensure that contract and customer deadlines being are met.
  • Maintain a professional and organized work area for cleanliness, organization and proper location of product and materials. 
  • Support a safe work environment, using safety equipment, ensure safety equipment used in the areas is proper, safe, and used in a productive manner.
  • Awareness of the quality of work being performed and strive to ensure that it meets company standards and expectations.
  • Promote a positive culture and teamwork, motivate self and support others to accomplish important objectives in the work environment
  • Daily interaction with Manager and staff colleagues and contributes actively to achieving company and departmental goals.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties and personnel backups as assigned and contributes to team effort


STANDARD REQUIREMENTS

Comply with all requirements of International Standard ISO9001 and ISO27001, NIST 800-171, CMMC – Cyber Security and Informational Data Security Requirements. Aerospace Management System Standards AS9100, AS9120, IDEA-QMS-9090, ASA-100 and supporting construct standards AS6081, IDEA-STD-1010, AC7402-CAAP, CCAP-101, FAA AC00-56, ANSI/ESD S20.20. All employees shall commit and comply with the requirements of AS5553 for Counterfeit Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical (EEE) Parts – Avoidance, Detection, Mitigation and Disposition practices.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / COMPENTENCY 

  • Basic computer skills. MS Office & ERP needed
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in processing of Government Contracts preferable
  • 1-2 years previous warehouse experience preferred but not required
  • Forklift Certification required
  • Good oral, written & communication skills. 
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
