Shift: Monday-Friday 6am-6pm

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Powder Technician at our underground mine operations at our Randolph Mine. 

Essential Functions  

  • Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
  • Abide by all safety rules, regulations and procedures of the mine
  • Ability to safety lift, carry and handle explosive materials
  • Compile explosives records in compliance with local and federal laws.
  • Ability to learn and operate equipment ensuring safe equipment operation
  • Maintain inventory levels, ordering new supplies as necessary
  • Lay out designs for drill and blast patterns.
  • Ability to work at heights while functioning in an elevated work position
  • Set up and operate equipment to bore holes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week. 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred 
  • Valid US drivers license
  • 1 + year related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations
  • Effective verbal communication
  • Knowledge of heavy mobile equipment and tools including their design, use, and maintenance

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
  • General physical activities including climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling materials.
