Shift: Monday-Friday 6am-6pm
Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Powder Technician at our underground mine operations at our Randolph Mine.
Essential Functions
- Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
- Abide by all safety rules, regulations and procedures of the mine
- Ability to safety lift, carry and handle explosive materials
- Compile explosives records in compliance with local and federal laws.
- Ability to learn and operate equipment ensuring safe equipment operation
- Maintain inventory levels, ordering new supplies as necessary
- Lay out designs for drill and blast patterns.
- Ability to work at heights while functioning in an elevated work position
- Set up and operate equipment to bore holes.
- Other duties as assigned
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Heavy equipment operations or military experience preferred
- Valid US drivers license
- 1 + year related experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations
- Effective verbal communication
- Knowledge of heavy mobile equipment and tools including their design, use, and maintenance
Physical Abilities
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
- General physical activities including climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling materials.
