Salary: Starting at $20/hour (DOE)

Schedule: 40 Hours a Week ; Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 pm; alternating weekends every three to four weeks

Position Overview:

Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Full-Time Cook to prepare meals and snacks for residential, day students, and on-duty staff. . What You Will Do:

  • Fulfill menu requirements and serve meals.
  • Wash pots and pans, trays, dishes, etc.
  • Take out kitchen trash to outside trash bins.
  • Cover, label and date all suitable leftovers for storage.
  • Take and record food temperatures at mealtime.
  • Maintain personal cleanliness, as well as cleanliness of the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Take and record refrigerator, freezer and dishwashing machine temperatures.
  • Attend team meetings as required.
  • Participate in required in-service training.

Requirements

Education:

  • High school degree or GED required.

Experience:

  • Some experience in quantity food production preferred.


Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires standing for extended periods of time. Exposure to tools, utensils, equipment, and cleaning materials, requiring attentive and safe utilization.
