BHFCU is seeking a Payments Operations Manager to lead a critical area of our organization and help shape the future of how members move and manage their money. In this role, you'll oversee ACH, wire transfers, debit and credit card programs, digital payments, fraud prevention, disputes, and vendor partnerships. You'll lead strategic initiatives, implement innovative solutions, and develop a high-performing team that delivers exceptional service to our members. Why You'll Like This Role Lead a highly visible function that impacts members across the organization Drive innovation in digital payments, card services, and money movement solutions Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives Influence process improvements, risk management, and operational efficiency Develop and mentor a talented team of payments professionals Hybrid work opportunities available Competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth Benefits to Empower You Health, dental, and vision insurance 6% 401(k) match Paid time off and paid holidays Fitness reimbursement Loan discounts Education assistance Career development and advancement opportunities Company-sponsored charitable giving and volunteering program Employer-paid life insurance Employer-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage and accidental death and dismemberment insurance Employee Assistance Program What You'll Do Payments Leadership & Strategy Lead all payment operations and money movement services across the credit union Develop and implement strategies that support organizational goals and member experience initiatives Identify opportunities for operational improvements, efficiency gains, and payment innovation Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and payment network developments Card, ACH & Digital Payment Operations Oversee ACH processing, wire transfers, debit card programs, and credit card operations Support digital payment solutions, including: Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Wallet, Zelle, real-time payments, other emerging payment technologies Manage payment processing, transaction settlement, disputes, chargebacks, and operational controls Oversee ATM and ITM settlement, balancing, and reconciliation activities Risk Management & Compliance Ensure compliance with payment regulations, card network requirements, and internal controls Partner with compliance, audit, fraud, and security teams to manage operational risk Manage relationships with payment processors, card vendors, network providers, and fraud partners Support audits, examinations, vendor reviews, and regulatory requirements Team Development Lead, coach, and develop payment operations staff Establish performance expectations, department goals, and service standards Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and member service excellence What We're Looking For Experience 5+ years of experience in payments, card services, electronic banking, or financial operations Leadership or supervisory experience preferred Experience with Velera (PSCU/CO-OP) and/or Fiserv DNA strongly preferred Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Operations, or a related field preferred Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered Preferred Certifications Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) Certified Payments Professional (CPP) Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) Payments Risk Professional Certification Working Conditions Material and Equipment Involved In-House Computer System Various Software Applications Scanners WebEx                            Work Environment / Physical Activities Occasional travel to one of BHFCU’s branch locations, attendance at community events, vendor meetings, and conferences may be required. Physical Requirements Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must by capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Working Environment Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise. Mental and Emotional Requirements Must be able to perform job functions with supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.
