Medical Receptionist

We are a rapidly expanding practice primarily specializing in Geriatric and Adult Psychiatry & Psychology within long term care settings. Our growing team of expert professionals serves several skilled nursing and subacute rehabilitation facilities in the state of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and its surrounding states.
 

Position Overview

This role is located on-site in our Raritan location, Monday-Friday, from 9 am-5 pm. 

This role is responsible for supporting daily administrative and clinical coordination functions to ensure efficient, responsive, and compliant operations across behavioral health services.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inbound and outbound phone calls, including live calls and voicemail follow-up 
  • Serve as a liaison between providers, facilities, pharmacies, and insurance companies 
  • Maintain professional and timely email correspondence 
  • Ensure clear and accurate communication across internal and external stakeholders
  • Process prior authorizations in a timely and accurate manner 
  • Coordinate telepsychiatry appointments and support PASRR documentation and workflows 
  • Assist providers with administrative requests and day-to-day support needs 
  • Prepare, complete, and distribute forms, letters, and documentation 
  • Receive and process patient payments in accordance with company procedures 
  • Assist with medication refill requests and coordinate with providers/pharmacies 
  • Support patients, families, and facilities with general inquiries and service coordination
  • Manage fax correspondence, including sending, receiving, and tracking documents



 Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred) 
  •  1–3 years of medical reception, healthcare administration, or similar experience 
  • Experience with insurance verification, prior authorizations, or medical billing is preferred
  • Familiarity with behavioral health or long-term care settings is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional, patient-focused approach 
  • Excellent organization and multitasking abilities 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information 
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or electronic health records (EHR) systems
