General Summary:
The role involves supervising and directing employees, as well as acquiring knowledge of operations and supervisor responsibilities in the assigned department within the manufacturing environment.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize manpower and equipment to maximize productivity while ensuring quality standards are maintained.
- Oversee all melting operations, inoculation, refractory work, and ladle repair as assigned.
- Oversee all molding operations, core and tooling preparation as assigned.
- Oversee finishing, shipping and quality departments as assigned.
- Direct the workforce to produce, process and inspect castings in accordance with procedures and work instructions.
- Continuously train employees in safe work practices.
- Direct employees to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Ensure that all iron poured, and molds made are within established parameters to ensure quality product. Has the authority to stop the production line should quality problems occur.
- Ensure that all castings are processed, stored, and shipped to meet customer requirements. Has the authority to reject any container of finished castings or to stop shipment of any casting.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to deal effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Knowledge of PC’s and related software.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively supervise employees.

 Working Conditions
- The Supervisor in Training will reside in the office and on the production floor. Must be able to adhere to conditions of the plant.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience supervising and/or directing employees.
- 3-5 years foundry experience with Disamatic molding and electric furnace knowledge preferred.
