Schedule Monday – Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Leadership & Team Management

  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and, when necessary, discipline or terminate maintenance and janitorial team members.

  • Serve as a working supervisor, performing maintenance technician duties as needed.

  • Approve payroll-related items including vacation, sick time, and attendance records.

  • Assign, track, and document all maintenance work through the maintenance management system.

  • Organize, prioritize, and follow through on all maintenance projects and work orders.

  • Develop team capabilities with readiness to assume the Chief Engineer role as part of succession planning.

Maintenance & Equipment Management

  • Oversee the purchase, installation, maintenance, and repair of all plant equipment.

  • Lead and maintain a robust preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

  • Perform and support mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting repairs.

  • Maintain accurate parts inventory and manage vendors with just-in-time ordering practices.

  • Ensure all work orders, time sheets, and request forms are completed accurately and on time.

Facility & Compliance

  • Oversee building maintenance, repairs, and general facility upkeep.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including OSHA, HLAC, and Hygienically Clean requirements.

  • Actively participate as a member of the Safety Committee and promote a strong safety culture.

  • Ensure adherence to company safety policies, procedures, and proper PPE usage at all times.

  • Stay current on industry best practices, equipment advancements, and new technologies through seminars and meetings.

Operational Support

  • Provide technical support for plant-related issues, including responding to off-hour calls as needed.

  • Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance efficiency, safety, and equipment reliability.

  • Support utility reduction initiatives and environmental responsibility efforts.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, including troubleshooting and repair.

  • Prior laundry or industrial plant maintenance experience required.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical background.

  • Prior experience with boiler maintenance.

  • Proven ability to supervise and lead maintenance technicians.

  • Experience managing maintenance budgets and cost controls.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels.

  • Ability to coordinate with vendors and manage parts inventory efficiently.

  • Commitment to completing all required safety training and using proper PPE.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Regular attendance required.

  • Ability to meet essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently.

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

  • Must be available to work seven days a week and be on call when necessary.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times.
