Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our CDL Route Delivery Driver/Customer Service Representative position. The CDL Route Delivery Driver/Customer Service Representative delivers and exchanges full cylinders and liquid vessels for empty ones and is responsible for serving walk-in customers and phone-in customers. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Load and unload freight and accurately fills out truck manifest
  • Accurately fill out gas invoices
  • Deliver freight and gas cylinders to customers
  • Take basic orders from customers when needed
  • Greet customers in a professional and enthusiastic way
  • Answer telephone calls promptly
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of products, placement, availability, price and use
  • Sell welding and safety products and services to customers
  • Process customer orders and accurately input customer order into the computer
  • Research products needed for customer special applications
  • Follow up on customer orders not processed correctly and remedy situation
  • Driving 50% - Customer Service Representative 50% 
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary

Qualifications

  • Minimum Class B CDL with hazmat endorsement or willingness to obtain
  • No at fault accidents or DOT violations resulting in suspension within the last 3 years
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to accurately enter data into computer
  • Ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. frequently and occasionally weighing over 100 lbs
  • Knowledge of hauling hazardous material
  • Ability to work safely around special hazards (i.e. mechanical – operating lift gate, and explosives – haul and work around flammable gas and non-flammable gas)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (writing invoices, picking up small cylinders, rolling large cylinders, pushing cylinder cart, hand trucks, steering trucks, etc.)
