Job Purpose: 

Delivers early planning and engineering solutions with agility and cost competitiveness across Product, Process and Tooling to improve N.A. manufacturing characteristics.

  

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supports advance New Model Bumper and Instrument Panel product feasibility from styling sketch through 1st drawing issue. Creates part data proposals, Tool (Mold) process plan specification and rough layout. Reports technical criteria to Category Technical Expert and New Model Project Leadership.
  • Leads Manufacturing Plastic New Model Tool verification checklist requirements and drawing maturation across N.A. DEBQ functions.
  • Supports the development of New Model Plastic Tool specifications/process plan from 1st drawing to Die GO. Provide direct technical guidance and oversight to downstream customers to ensure successful design and production deliverables are met. Monitors Design Change through drawing maturation.
  • Supports complex manufacturing category problem analysis, determine root causes, recommend corrective action, and set SAP (Specific Action Plan) in the New Model development. 

 

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical or Industrial) or equivalent related experience
  • 2+ years Engineering experience, expert knowledge of Equipment/Tool New Model, expert knowledge of Automotive Production facilities
  • Problem solving analysis and breakdown to root cause
  • Knowledge of Honda New Model development and Manufacturing
  • Expert of Automotive plastic injection processes.

 

Working Conditions:

  • 10% Travel
  • 5 to 10 hours of OT per week
  • Primarily office environment, with capability to work on the production floor to understand equipment and Plant perspective
