Job Purpose

Delivers early planning and engineering solutions with agility and cost competitiveness across Product, Process and Tooling to improve N.A. manufacturing characteristics.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supports advance Body Frame Paint equipment feasibility study for New Model Body in White construction from styling sketch through 1st drawing issue. Creates strategy and plans for study, specification and equipment concept. Reports New Model equipment content to Project Leadership and Business Unit Mgmt.
  • Leads Manufacturing Paint New Model equipment verification check list requirements and drawing maturation across N.A. DEBQ functions.
  • Conceives and leads the development of New Model Paint Equipment specifications and process plan to 1st Plan. Provide direct technical guidance and oversight to downstream customers to ensure successful design and production deliverables are met. Monitors Design Change through drawing maturation.
  • Supports complex manufacturing category problem analysis, determine root causes, recommend corrective action, and set SAP(Specific Action Plan) in the New Model development.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Minimum Educational Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical or Industrial) or equivalent related experience.
  • Minimum Experience
    • 3+ years of Engineering experience, expert knowledge of Equipment/Tool New Model, expert knowledge of Honda Production facilities. 
  • Other Job-Specific Skills
    • Problem solving analysis and breakdown to root cause.
    • Expert knowledge of Honda New Model development and Manufacturing.
    • Expert of Body in White construction. Go-to person for specified assigned category.

Working Conditions

  • 10% Travel, 5 to 10 hours of OT per week
  • Willingness and capability to work on the production floor to understand equipment and Plant perspective
