SUMMARY Â
Mortenson is currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer I to perform routine commissioning assignments, applying basic engineering principles in a construction environment, with a focus on successful commissioning using prescribed methods for specific and limited tasks.Â

RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
- Review owner project requirementsÂ
- Assist in performing scope reviewsÂ
- Create commissioning plans, checklists, and testsÂ
- Perform field visits and observe commissioning inspections and testsÂ
- Write issue descriptions and field reportsÂ
- Create Systems ManualsÂ
- Build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsÂ
- Support planning and execution of system tests, including NETA, SCADA, controls, and operations verification of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and life safety systemsÂ
- All other duties as assignedÂ
Â
QUALIFICATIONSÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or similar technical field, or equivalent field experienceÂ
- Minimum one year of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP Contractor or Commissioning firmÂ
- Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasksÂ
- Basic understanding of key construction documents and their relationship to Project Management and Field ExecutionsÂ
- Basic understanding of how design, construction, start-up, and turnover align within the project delivery processÂ
- Basic understanding of key construction documents and their relationship to Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC)Â
- Fundamental knowledge of commissioning processes and commissioning process deliveryÂ
- Ability to conceptually relate the construction deliverable to the commissioning deliverableÂ
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, project management, and pertinent web applications; familiarity with database commissioning tools like BIM360 or Cx AlloyÂ
- Ability to interpret and communicate company policiesÂ
- Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skillsÂ
- Active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedbackÂ
- Ability to travel up to 100%Â

The base pay range for this role is $80,900 - $109,300. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Â
Â
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.Â
