This role involves interpreting blueprints, operating welding equipment safely, and ensuring the quality of welds meets industry standards. You may also assist in material handling tasks within the workshop or yard. The Welder position does not include supervisory responsibilities but requires proficiency in welding processes and a commitment to safety and precision.   Essential Functions:  Fabricate gate frames and panel stands. Monitor inventory of equipment and tools. Conduct daily weld count with yard foreman. Operate forklift to move materials within the yard, with proper training and authorization. Weld new and used panels, panel stands, gates, posts, and chain link fences; perform repairs and modifications as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Adhere to all safety rules and wear necessary personal protective equipment. QualificationsQualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Welding certificate from a Technical School. A forklift certification will be provided after hire Preferably holds a welding certificate or possesses at least 1 year of welding experience. Works independently with minimal interaction beyond immediate coworkers and yard foreman. Assignments are task-oriented and typically come with detailed instructions. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Capable of applying common-sense understanding to carry out straightforward instructions. Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands include prolonged periods of standing, manual dexterity involving hands and arms, and occasional activities like climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking, and hearing. Regular lifting of weights ranging from 10 to 100 pounds. Exposure to environmental factors such as fumes, airborne particles, potentially hazardous chemicals, and varying weather conditions. Work environment includes exposure to loud machinery and mechanical noise.
