CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Electric Distribution Engineer III to join our Electric Distribution Team in Reading, PA or Fort Washington, PA, where you’ll play a key role in planning, designing, and implementing electric distribution infrastructure that strengthens grid resiliency and supports the evolving energy landscape. This is your opportunity to work on critical utility systems, solve technically complex challenges, and help deliver forward‑looking solutions that power communities today and into the future.

 

This position offers remote capabilities; however, local field work responsibilities are required.

What You'll Do:

  • Independently complete engineering design, technical analysis, and preparation of specifications and reports for overhead, underground, and underwater electric distribution projects
  • Develop computation methods, technical reports, and specifications under the guidance of senior staff or technical leadership
  • Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, applying standard procedures and best practices for safety, reliability, and resiliency
  • Monitor project progress and performance, acting quickly to resolve operational issues and minimize delays in critical infrastructure
  • Take responsibility for large portions of projects with oversight from senior staff or management, including field assignments and site assessments

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Strong working and theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply engineering knowledge in practical settings
  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures and regulatory standards
  • Proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (PLS-CADD, Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range:

$78,000 - $87,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
