Accounting Supervisor

Position Summary: 

Penske Transportation Solutions is seeking an Accounting Supervisor with a passion for business operations to join our team in Reading, PA. This position will be responsible for monthly accounting activities including preparing and reviewing journal entries, conducting month-end analytics, and completing account reconciliations. The Accounting Supervisor is a result-driven professional who collaborates effectively with key business partners while supporting team members in a fast-paced environment. The Supervisor will directly supervise staff and work closely with various stakeholders to maintain, support, and improve accounting-related processes.

Major Responsibilities:  

• Coach and mentor direct reports to build technical accounting skills, enhance professional development, and foster a collaborative team environment
• Prepare and review journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Review month end analytics and provide guidance and assistance to direct reports with their analytical work
• Prepare detailed account reconciliations and investigate and resolve complex open items in a timely manner
• Apply GAAP principles and accounting policies within area of expertise to ensure compliance 
• Serve as a change agent by driving continuous process improvement initiatives 
• Lead and participate in special projects, as assigned
