Job Purpose

EnerSys has a dynamic job opportunity available for an Applications Engineer II in the Energy Systems group located in our corporate office in Reading, PA. This individual will interact with customers, engineering, marketing, customer support, sales and suppliers to provide product support and ensure designs meet or exceed expectations. An integral part of this position is responding to daily technical inquiries received via phone calls and through a general mailbox.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support internal and external customers with engineering, technical information and installation information Provide prompt and accurate quotes for battery support equipment
  • Develop and apply standards expertise (IEEE, ASCE, etc) Track and execute projects / ESR’s
  • Processing custom sales orders
  • Drafting support using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Creating BOM’s for new kits and batteries in BaaN and SAP Authorize / approve ECO’s, drawings, and designs
  • Support Nuclear safety related projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field with minimum 3 years related experience, or
  • Associate’s degree in technical field with minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of standby power equipment design, industry standards and quality procedures
  • Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Above average knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
  • Working knowledge of lead-acid or other battery chemistry
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment requiring a high level of attention to detail.
