Inside Shipper (Vacation Relief)

Berks Packing is a 3rd generation family-owned and operated meat processor facility located in Reading, Pennsylvania. We have a long-standing tradition of providing excellent product quality and customer service. Berks has been a family favorite for over 93 years!

Berks Packing has an immediate need for full-time experienced Inside Shipper (Vacation Relief) in a team-based environment in Reading, PA. Workdays are Monday through Friday primarily 1st shift, 2nd Shift, and weekends as needed. Shippers are members of the Teamsters Local 429 and receive overtime and double-time pay.

Working conditions are in a refrigerated environment and include the following:

• Packaging, labeling, lifting to 50 lbs., and loading product

• Order Fulfillment, Product Put aways, Transfers, Replenishment and Equipment Maintenance
• Utilization of 8600 Packer and General Cleaning
• Prior Hi-Reach Lift Truck and Electric Rider Jack experience a plus

• Prior experience as a Shipper in a distribution center
• Solid work history
• Demonstrated skills in teamwork and worker safety
• Food industry experience preferred
• GED or HS diploma
• Satisfactory references
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends as needed
