IT Field Engineer

We are looking for a Field Engineer to provide prompt and effective technical support across our corporate and store locations. This position plays a key role in maintaining the seamless operation of hardware, software, POS systems, and network infrastructure — minimizing downtime and keeping our stores running at peak performance. Job Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support to employees, addressing their computer, POS system, and network-related issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Diagnose hardware and software malfunctions, identifying root causes of technical problems and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and network components, ensuring compatibility and adherence to organizational standards and policy.
  • Train employees on proper computer usage, software applications, and troubleshooting techniques to minimize future support requests.
  • Work regularly with cross technical teams within IT, vendors and business users to troubleshoot, maintain and deploy technical solutions across the business.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance checks on computers, POS systems, and network devices to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning hardware, updating software, and optimizing system performance, to extend the lifespan of IT equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, providing a comprehensive history of preventive measures and identifying trends for future improvement.
  • Assist the network Administrators with troubleshooting on site with network-related problems, isolating the source of disruptions, implementing corrective actions, and restoring network connectivity promptly.
  • Co-manage with Network Administrators network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring optimal network performance and security.
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach, providing prompt, courteous, and professional technical support to all employees.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users, explaining complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Document technical support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolution procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing via Jira and Help Desk Tools.

 

 Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows OS and Windows desktop software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise with Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tasks with limited supervision and complete on time and professionally accurate.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot various network devices such as Firewalls, Routers, switches, and Wireless Access points.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices, incident management, and IT operations.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
  • Excellent understanding of how to install various network and Telecom racks, stands and wire management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously.
  • Professional verbal and written communications.
  • Valid driver's license required for operation of company vehicle; position involves regular travel to store locations, including long-distance drives and occasional overnight trips
  • Must be able to lift/move 25 – 50 lbs. boxes or equipment when applicable.
