The Manufacturing Engineer develops, maintains, and audits manufacturing and assembly processes used at Reading Truck Group. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for advancing the manufacturing operations at Reading Truck Group by developing, specifying, evaluating, and implementing safer, more repeatable, more reliable, and more cost-effective fabrication, assembly and finishing processes and equipment.

The Nuts and Bolts
路 Develop, design, specify, test and maintain records for production equipment, tooling, gauges, jigs, and fixtures to optimize manufacturing process, including safety, quality and efficiency by studying product requirements and applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials
路 Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout
路 Project manage assembly and manufacturing projects
路 Design and analyze labor and space requirements, product design, quality requirements, workflow, layout of equipment and workspace to maximize efficiency, consistency and effectiveness of manufacturing and assembly operations and projects
路 Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to design processes that produce product within product and process specifications
路 Review and analyze product sketches, designs, models, and drawings to make recommendations to improve manufacturability; provide design support for manufacturing projects
路 Promote company safety policies and develop technical solutions to improve operational safety
路 Work with maintenance team, and outside contractors to improve current equipment and processes, improve performance, and minimize equipment downtime
路 Actively participate and provide support in the daily activities of production teams
路 Support and participate in lean initiatives, and develop the assembly and manufacturing processes to provide customers with products that meet or exceed customer requirements and drive continuous safety, quality and productivity improvements

Required Credentials
Education:
路 Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Engineering
Experience:
路 Five (5) years of relevant experience
路 Experience with sheet metal manufacturing technologies, including fabrication, finishing, welding (both steel and aluminum), and material handling is preferred
路 Experience with DFM, DFMEA/PFMEA and their applications is preferred
路 Experience with Lean Manufacturing is strongly preferred
